Artikel 126: Official Instructions of the King's Commissioner

Artikel 126

The Kings Commissioner may be charged by Act of Parliament with the execution of official instructions to be given by the Government.

Explanation

Please note: Only the Dutch-language version of the Constitution has legal effect.

Only a law may stipulate that the government can assign a specific task to the King's (or Queen's) Commissioner. These include, for example:

  • visits to municipalities in his or her province
  • the coordination of civil defence preparations
  • powers in reappointment and dismissal procedures for mayors.
