Explanation
Please note: Only the Dutch-language version of the Constitution has legal effect.
Everyone is free to choose their own religion or beliefs and to act accordingly in their own way, as long as they comply with the law.
The legislature may regulate the exercise of this right in public places, outside buildings or enclosed spaces, but only to protect health, to safeguard traffic or to prevent or combat disorder.
Such rules are laid down in the Public Assemblies Act.
